MOP-10
(Cont'd)
the orange one is sold out; I have the other colors.
these chips are not mother-of-pearl.  I placed them here for lack of a better place.  Some have called them enamel; I don't know.  They are made of glass and a metal like copper, and are pictured in the last two color plates (near page 109) of the Revised Edition of "Antique Gambling Chips."  I intentionally broke the the light blue chip above so I could examine the construction of the chip.  Note that there is a copper-like rim and copper ruffled core to the chips, and colored glass on both sides of the ruffled core, which creates the fan design -- but the finished chip is flat and smooth on the surface. ........ I consider these to be quite rare.  I have come across these only once, and I do not know of others who have sold them.
Lynn S., who bought one of these, said, " I just received the package of gambling chips, and love them all. Thank you. I can tell you about the purple one with the radiating lines fanning out from a center point, now that I can actually see it. It is guilloche enamel. From the pictures in Dale Seymours book, I thought they actually had ridges you could feel. The 3-dimensional effect is unbelievable. This is a technique used a lot in the late 1800s, on up to the present, on jewelry, fancy dresser sets, cigarette boxes and compacts. Faberge used it for most of the mirror and picture frames and the eggs he made for the Russian Czar before the revolution. "
colors available -- all the colors shown.
 size -- 1-3/16" diameter, 3 mil. thick.
condition -- varies.  I will send you the best chips available.  At least one side will be excellent-very fine, and the reverse side will be OK, will have no serious problems.

MOP-11 size -- 1-5/16."  2 mil. thick.
condition -- very fine-excellent.  The chips capure the light and shimmer very nicely.  The picture here capured this almost too well.  The chips are mostly white looking, but when you tilt them to the light, they are particularly nice and colorful.
